My Poetry
1000
Loves a symphony, I have no choice, I have no bearing
when it calls to me I raise my voice to the skies as they’re clearing
wind it comes in like a thousand birds
floating on the unfamiliar words
days are leaving us one by one, nothing we can do
you must let the sun in to shine on you, to shine through you
darkness will forget to find its shadows sleeping
the rain is only angels when they are weeping
Come and hear the wind
a symphony of a thousand birds begins
their wings like blades of fire, blades of grass and dreams as sharp as steel
they hang upon the wire
when the dreams come, your will forsaken on paths so broken
your soul will take in all that it can feel
time it drifts by so slowly now you’ll barely hear
it makes so little sound , cup your ears and follow the melody
a thousand birds placed in the skies for all to see
the ocean tides like the wind drift in and out so free
Dream for all it’s worth
your time is now, your hearts rebirth
lift your wings up to the skies
a thousand birds will pass you by
take the wind back, it’s been at your heels forever now
the symphony of light is turning now, a color wheel,
a prism connected to the stars
shines the way, it shows my heart
just where you are
Loves a symphony I cannot hear
until you look at me
the wind is lifting us, please let me see, let me see
all the days they disappear, one by one
a thousand birds will fly away from here upon the winds of days
into the sun, never to be seen again
take the sun into your heart
as the symphony of life begins
once again my love a thousand birds fall in unison
from high above, open your heart
let them in

COLORS
The color of your sin, enveloped by a yearning
every move, every beat of your heart
something bigger is at stake here, your heart on an axis
and its slowly turning
Pulling me into the core, gravity feeding off my willingness
to be at the center of your desire
nothing can withstand the heat of your love, inside this white hot fire
The color of your passion, surrounded by this fortress of time
its structure ever so present
to scale the walls of time, I see your heart lying so still
awaiting its reprise in the distance
As I reach the top I free fall into your dreams on the other side
if the sun should eclipse the moon as your dreams would my heart
will it still pull the tides
The color of your soul, all the colors becoming one
the absence of color within my own heart as I try to feel once again
your white hot core so intense, as if I have touched and held the surface of the sun
The color of your sin, I can no longer feel it but yet it burns like an unseen force
I can no longer see it my heart yearns, gravity pulling against my will
it still draws me in, as it always will

NIGHT BIRD
No one is born into this world alone, we distance ourselves as we go along
time is the only card we are shown, even so we read it wrong
even so we are called upon
there’s a bird in the dark he’s singing all alone , some birds they just sing all alone
from birth they know how to fly, from birth they know how to sing their songs
We are instilled with emotions and fears, the first thing we learn is how to cry not to sing
we taste the salt of our own tears and we feed on the promise that a new dawn may bring
if only we were born with a song instilled like a bird, if only we could fly
knowing that we are brought down sometimes by words
there’s a bird on a wire singing the sweetest song he knows it by heart, as the day is long
some birds they sing all alone even under the cover of darkness
it is not taught it is inside him, it is known
No one dies in this world alone
we choose to either reach out or to chase solitudes shadows
solitudes cold shadows can break us, as the bird singing alone in the dark he knows
singing in the dark to the silences of the night
no bird singing back, the night bird he still sings all alone
instilled in his heart a loneliness, instilled in his heart a way home
we get lost along the way, we have no song we are born with to keep for our own
but there are songs we can learn to sing ways to fly and find a way back home
so sing like the night bird even if no ones singing back at you
for there is love instilled inside your heart, its this love we have to choose
